The study examines the regional dimensions of the challenges of ageing, focusing on the processes in the Northern Great Plain and Northern Hungary regions. In addition to analysing the regional specificities of demographic processes, the paper also discusses the characteristics of international and domestic ageing policies, especially those affecting care, planning, development and resource allocation. Another focus of the communication is the interpretation and analysis of the crucial role and responsibility of ecclesiastic service providers in a medium-developed service environment. In addition to the development and modernisation of formal care services, the author considers community and congregational involvement in the care of older people to be important.
