Open Manuscript Studio in the Editorial Workflow of Sárospataki Füzetek

Open Manuscript Studio

Sárospataki Füzetek is also introducing Open Manuscript Studio into its editorial workflow. The Studio is an open-source scholarly editing environment that connects manuscript preparation, peer review, and preparation for publication with the journal's online editorial system.

For Authors

Authors can work on their articles in an interface similar to conventional word processors. At the same time, the underlying structure of the document, including headings, notes, references, and other scholarly elements, is preserved in a structured form.

When Studio is available for a submission, the manuscript can be opened directly from the journal's editorial system. There is no need to manually copy the same document between different systems.

The Studio can be used, among other things, for:

  • editing the article;
  • reviewing the structure of the document;
  • managing notes and references;
  • tracking and managing editorial revisions;
  • preparing the final publication.
For Reviewers

Reviewers can also open the manuscript assigned to them through the journal's editorial system.

The reviewer view follows the rules of the journal's peer-review procedure. In anonymous or double-anonymous review, the system does not display author information that the reviewer is not authorized to see.

The purpose of the Studio is to allow reviewers to read and evaluate the manuscript in a clear and unified environment while keeping the peer-review process connected to the journal's editorial system.

Opening the Studio

The manuscript should always be opened from the Sárospataki Füzetek online editorial system, using the Studio link associated with the relevant submission or review assignment. This ensures that the appropriate manuscript and the view corresponding to the user's role are loaded automatically.

Open Manuscript Studio is under continuous development. We welcome feedback and observations from authors and reviewers based on their experience using the system.
