This paper presents the involvement of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (MRSZ) in the national “Emerging Settlements program” launched in 2019. The analysis outlines the organization's previous projects (Válaszút, Végtelen lehetőség), which provided the methodological foundation for current complex development efforts. The study details the practical application of the “Presence” (Jelenlét) methodology, interventions based on social diagnoses, and the criteria for establishing “presence points”. The author describes the program's “from conception to employment” approach, covering youth mentoring, community development, and pilot projects for local economic stimulation. The study highlights the pivotal role of field workers as “new types of polymaths” and emphasizes the importance of cooperation with church communities to achieve sustainable social integration and break the cycle of disadvantage.
